Review: Le Mode Accessories.

It's Friday!

Are you guys relieved? We finally have the weekend. I suppose everyday is a weekend for me now though since I'm out of school. I've actually been trying to figure out how I'm going to spend my vacation. Besides blogging, I have tons of things I want to do. For example, I really need to start exercising again like crazy! I also want to go shopping haha.

Speaking of shopping, I haven't done a product review for what feels like ages, so here's one!

Mount Verde Ring - $15.00

A festive ring will add a little color and glam during the holiday season and anytime during the year. The stretch band gives it optimal fit. Always lead and nickle safe.

Measures 1 1/2 inches

I seriously had a hard time choosing a piece, but naturally I was immediately drawn to their rings. I couldn't be more excited to have this little beauty joining my growing collection!

I love that it's big. I just adore rings that make a statement. I also adore its vintage vibe. I noticed right off the bat the unique craftsmanship that was put into it. I love the texture, and how fabulous is that green gem in the middle?!

Plus, the stretch band design totally helps as well.

Shipping was fast and easy.

What did I do after I received the ring? I took it for a day out in the sun, obviously! I wore it to my friend's 19th birthday party. Needless to say, compliments were given and my ring's debut was a complete success.

Song Of The Moment: Volcano.

Happy Happy Wednesday ;)

Like I've been saying for weeks now, I'm totally committed to posting as much as I can here. Blogging is very important to me so I definitely need to step it up. I actually have quite a few posts to do and I can't wait for you guys to see them!

Moving on, it's song obsession time!

Isn't "Volcano" amazing? I seriously love it! It's a great sad song. The melody, the beat, and the words are just perfect. It also didn't hurt that Phillip Phillips sang it beautifully. Hands down his best performance on American Idol. His voice along with the guitar and cello is music to my ears, literally.

I can't believe that tonight is the finale. I really want him to win. I haven't been this invested on an AI contestant since...ever! Jessica Sanchez has a poweful voice, but Phil is just so special. He's cute, but most importantly he's extremely talented and unique. I have no doubt that this dude will have a successful career with or without the AI title. I mean I'm already in line to buy his album and concert tickets haha.

Here is the original version:

Don't hold yourself like that
You'll hurt your knees
I kissed your mouth and back
But that's all I need
Don't build your world around volcanoes melt you down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you, you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for the sea

Don't throw yourself like that
In front of me
I kissed your mouth your back
Now, is that all you need?
Don't drag my love around volcanoes melt me down

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you you do not need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains
And I'll ask for what I give to you
Is just what I'm going through
This is nothing new
No no just another phase of finding what I really need
Is what makes me bleed
And like a new disease
Lord, she's still too young to treat
Like a distant tree
Volcanoes melt me down
She's still too young
I kissed your mouth
You do not need me

I like both, but I'm partial to Phil's! Even though I really like that Damien Rice sang it with a girl.

Which version did you like best?
Are you Team Phil or Team Jessica?

P.S. Congratulations to Carrie for winning my After Flats giveaway and thank you to everyone who joined!

Lots of love, B

Have A Bite: spinach & mushroom omelette.

It's Friday night!

Once again, I apologize for my lack of posting and commenting here in the blogging world. It seems like that's all I say these days, isn't it? Wow, I'm so lame sometimes. It's a good thing I'm finally out of school. Now, I'll have plenty of time to relax, have fun, and catch up with you guys!

Photobucket

The first thing I did after I got out of school was meet up with the sibs. After spending weeks and weeks living under a rock studying, it seriously felt like ages since the last time I've seen them! For some weird reason, I was crazy craving IHOP so we grabbed breakfast there.

We talked, we laughed, I whined about my exams, they made fun of me, we made summer plans, and we ate till we were full. I ended up ordering the spinach and mushroom omelette topped with rich hollandaise and diced tomatoes. It was positively delish!

Do you like IHOP?
What's your favorite breakfast food?

2012 Met Gala fashion.

Happy Thursday :D

One more day before it's time to rest again! I bet the week has been quite tiring and dragging for most of you as it was for me. I've been tackling exams left and right for the last couple of days. Thank God I only have one more tomorrow and then I'm FREE.

I tried posting about The Met Costume Institute Gala earlier, but school got in the way. Sorry, I'm a bit late! It was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday in NYC.

My picks are:

Claire Danes

White J. Mendel gown

Nude Christian Louboutin heels

Van Cleef & Arpels jewels

Aqua clutch

Some might say that she dressed too simple, but I thought she looked great! I like that she went for a fresh and summery ensemble. A different hairstyle would have been nice though.

Dianna Agron

Jade green Carolina Herrera gown

Sergio Rossi heels

Fred Leighton jewels

Judith Leiber bag

Dianna's look is definitely one of my favorites. Sure it's nothing new, but I adore the color of her silk organza gown. It actually sorta reminds me of something Little Mermaid would wear!

Sofia Vergara

Gray Marchesa gown

Casadei crystal pumps

$2 million worth of Harry Winston jewels

I'm not crazy over Sofia's choice, but I wouldn't deem it as a faux pas either. It certainly has character and I like the embroidery even though the peplum detail hid her sexy curves!

Emily Blunt & John Krasinski

Coral Calvin Klein gown

Dangling earrings

Silver clutch

The British actress was the definition of less is more at the event! She donned a cut-out number perfect for spring. Of course, her look wasn't complete without her husband by her side.

Amy Adams

Cream Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown

Brian Atwood shoes

Fred Leighton jewels

Judith Leiber bag

Her Grecian ensemble joins the favorite list. I've always been fond of flowy gowns and this is not an exception. I love the black accent and the metallic bow. Also, her hair is beautiful!

Ginnifer Goodwin

Tangerine Monique Lhuillier gown

Silver pumps

H.Stern jewelry

I think you all know that I am obsessed with cap sleeves so, it shouldn't be a surprise that Ginnifer's look made the cut. I'm sure she was one of the few who stood out at the red carpet!

Leigton Meester

Gold Marchesa gown

Tabitha Simmons shoes

Harry Winston jewels

Gold clutch

I am a big fan of Leighton and I love her in Gossip Girl, but I'm not totally sold with this. I like the Marchesa gown despite the weird tiered tulle skirt, but what's up with her whole makeup?!

Heidi Klum

Blue Escada gown

Christian Louboutin shoes

Lorraine Schwartz jewelry

Christian Louboutin clutch

The supermodel showed her leg in a slit! I am loving the edgy vibe of her choice. I love that the whole thing is made of lace and that she paired it with a black statement necklace.

Kristen Wiig

Orange Stella McCartney dress

Stella McCartney pumps

Fred Leighton jewels

Reed Krakoff bag

I personally wouldn't go for a short dress when it comes to the gala, but somehow Kristen made it work! She was girly chic in the orange number. I love the poofy skirt and her dark tresses.

Nina Dobrev

Black and gold Donna Karan Atelier gown

Jimmy Choo shoes

H. Stern jewelry

Judith Lieber clutch

The Vampire Diaries star stunned in a custom-made gown! Hers is another favorite of mine. I find the liquid black and gold swirls, asymmetrical neckline, low-cut back, and trail fabulous.

Camilla Belle

Silver Ralph Lauren Collection gown

Champagne python sandals

Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection jewelry

Silver clutch

Camilla's Old Hollywood style matched her timeless beauty! I give her ensemble a perfect score. I like the abstract print and I really like the sheer tulle yoke. She also rocked the dark lips.

Emma Stone

Cherry red Lanvin dress

Black gloss Hiver 2011 Runway Collection leather pumps

Crystal Lanvin hair pins

Emma got playful in this bright dress. It wasn't her best, but I love it anyways. How could I not? It's jewel-encrusted and it looks pretty fun to twirl in! I like that blue mani as well.

Who was your favorite?

Lots of love, B

Monthly Movie Picks: May.

It's May and it's Friday, people!

What's up? How was your week? I hope it went swell. California is experiencing cold weather yet again. It's super weird since it's supposed to be spring now, but I love it anyways! I am stoked that I can still strut in my boots and cardigans haha.

To celebrate the new month, here's my movie picks!

USA Release Date: Today

Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army.

Ricky and I have been waiting for this for months! I'm extremely excited to see it. It's going to be so rad. I'm looking forward to seeing Captain America in action. He's my favorite Avenger. Who's yours?

USA Limited Release Date: May 4th

As a new year at school begins, Lola's heart is broken by her boyfriend, though soon she's surprised by her best friend, promising musician Kyle, who reveals his feelings for her.

LOL looks like a typical teen angst film, but I'd go watch it if I had the extra bucks. I'll probably just wait for the DVD to come out though. I actually like Miley Cyrus and it seems pretty fun!

USA Release Date: May 11th

An imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

I'm a Tim Burton fan so of course, I'm watching this! I love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter together. They're incredibly talented and very funny. They also have awesome movie collaborations.

USA Release Date: May 11th

Two feuding rock stars get handcuffed together for 24 hours at a music festival where they are both due to perform.

Tonight You're Mine, originally titled You instead, is absolutely my cup of tea. It has the classic "the more you hate the more you love" storyline and it's set at a music festival. Plus, it stars Tonks!

USA Release Date: May 18th

A look at love through the eyes of five interconnected couples experiencing the thrills and surprises of having a baby, and ultimately coming to understand the universal truth that no matter what you plan for, life doesn't always deliver what's expected.

Calling all bloggers who are expecting, this is perfect for you! I've said it countless of times, but I just really enjoy when lots of actors get together in a film. This is so going to be hilarious!

What's on your movie list?

Lots of love, B

Scanned: Nails.

Happy Happy Saturday!

I say this a lot, but I can't help that I'm almost always amused by how time can go by so fast. I mean, seriously, it's the weekend again. No complains though. I happen to love weekends. I'm also ecstatic that we had a blast of chilly weather here in Cali even if it was just for a few days!

Anyways, I haven't been sharing scans with you guys so here's two pages all about nail polishes and my NOTD (or should I say NOTW?)!

Photobucket

Bold and dark colors are my go-to. I adore blues, greens, metals, and sometimes reds.

I should probably start sporting orange and pink nail polishes more often since I have pale skin.

I shall give the no-polish manicure a try one of these days.

Photobucket

I am loving the spring colors this year and I'm sure everyone else is as well.

Coral and peach nail polishes are on my shopping list. I also need to get my hands on another bottle of mint and lilac.

Photobucket

SinfulColors - Midnight Blue

Photobucket

This polish is definitely one of my favorites! It's just so me. I love how blue it is and I like that it's in the darker side. I figured I'd rock it for the last time before I start wearing pastels. I used two coats to achieve this look and then I put a top coat to finish it off.

In other news, guess who I saw at LAX on Thursday night?

I saw Zac Efron!

When I went to pick up my mom's friend from the airport with my sister, we noticed a few paparazzi waiting outside. Mads and I were both wondering who they were waiting for. I guessed Zac and obviously, I got it right. He was so close we actually almost bumped into him when he was coming out. It blows that I didn't get the chance to take a picture since the whole thing happened fast. I'll say this though, he is smaller, shorter, and way cuter in person! I think it's safe to say that I got a little starstruck haha.

What nail polish color are you currently wearing?
Have you ever seen or met a celebrity in person?

Review & Giveaway: After Flats.

Happy Saturday :)

How's the weekend treating you? It seems like spring is really underway here in LA because it's hot now. I'm melting and I don't like it one bit! I hate feeling sweaty and icky. I want it to be cold again...

Well, enough about that. It's time for the surprise I told you about in my last post. Here's a review and another giveaway for you!

After Flats in Gold 'n Gorgeous - $29.97

Gold ‘n Gorgeous is full of richness, charm and allure. Its effervescent tone reflects the sparkling personality of the lovely lady wearing this gorgeous color. It possesses a balance of magnetism, intelligence and an incredibly strong sex appeal. It is sure to make you the center of attention. Be that sexy glamour queen by wearing an enchanting pair of Gold ‘n Gorgeous After Flats.

Right now they come in five colors: Midnight Black, Silver 'n Sassy, Gold 'n Gorgeous, Pink 'n Pretty, and Red Rose.

Photobucket

I think it's safe to say that heels are not the most comfortable footwear out there. That's why most of the time I refrain from wearing them. No matter how much I convince myself that my black pumps would look smashing with the party frock I selected, I usually just go with booties or sandals. Being a party animal, these come incredibly handy. I wish I had these for my Senior Prom (I HAD to go barefoot at the end of the night, eeek!).

I got mine in medium which is a US size 7/8. The flats fit snugly because of their elastic heel. So far, the elastic back hasn't bothered me. They have strong rubber soles, comfy suede insoles, and they come in a cute clutch that easily transforms into a tote to store your heels in. Plus, the ribbons are cute! These are pretty sturdy, but they're not for everyday use.

I recommend you invest on a pair because your feet deserve the best care possible! These foldable flats also make great wedding favors. If you're interested, you can check out the website for the rates and packages.
